Susan Sandlin began her career in the Healing Arts in 1987 when she was certified as a Massage Therapist. Recognizing there were other practices that would create wellness and relief, she went back to school to expand her skills.  Susan holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Oriental Medicine from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, one of the original schools of Oriental Medicine in the United States. Nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), she earned certificates in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. and has been treating patients with a combination of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Chinese Food Therapy, Massage, Yoga and other modalities ever since.

Susan began practicing in Richmond, VA in 2002. As one of the first Licensed Acupuncturists in the area, she was one of the pioneering practitioners to introduce Chinese Medicine to Richmonders. During the span of her career, she has gratefully helped thousands of patients.

Susan is known for her compassion, intuition, and experience. Her integration of multiple treatment styles has been called life changing by many patients. Her specialties include Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Therapy, Yoga, Massage, and Nutritional Guidance. She has had tremendous clinical success with pain relief, women’s health issues, and multiple conditions effecting the body like digestive, respiratory and neurological issues to name a few. While in Chinese Medical School, Susan received extensive training over a period of years that led to her becoming a Certified Reiki Master in the Usui Tradition in 2000. Reiki, an energy healing modality, adds a special touch to her massage and bodywork and deepens the effectiveness of her treatments. In 2010, she was trained as an Oneness Blessing Giver.

Susan is constantly deepening her skills by participating in Continuing Education programs on a regular basis.

Susan earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from San Jose State. Passionate about educating the public about acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, she regularly gives lectures to health care professionals and community members at VCU Health Systems, Bon Secours, JCC, and local support groups including Crohn‘s & IBD groups. Susan is a frequent lecturer at Good Foods Grocery.
