WEEM Offers Pediatric Treatment

Acupuncture for children? Yes!

You have enjoyed the benefits of Chinese Medicine. Did you know that it can also be used to safely and effectively treat children? Acute bronchitis, allergies, asthma, recurring ear infections, and digestive distress are just a few of the many conditions that Chinese Medical Pediatrics can treat.

If your child is reluctant to try acupuncture, there are several other potential treatment modalities including gentle forms of pediatric massage and mild cutaneous electrical stimulation applied to acupoints that can be used instead. If you're interested in an alternative to antibiotics, gentle herbal drops with similar properties can be used instead.

Susan has recently completed advanced training in Chinese Medical Pediatrics with renowned professor/practitioner Alex Tiberi, L.Ac. Her existing treatment for children will now be more of a specialty. For further information call Susan at (804) 437-1947.

Restorative Yoga returning Fall 2010

The Gathering Place @ WEEM

Restorative yoga is a gentle, calming, therapeutic type of yoga that uses props to support the body (blankets, bolsters and chairs) to deepen the benefits of the poses.

Judith Hanson Lasater, author of Relax and Renew, Restful Yoga for Stressful Times, refers to restorative yoga poses as “active relaxation”.

By supporting the body with props, we alternately stimulate and relax the body to move toward balance." She states that the poses create specific physiological responses which are beneficial to health and help reduce the effects of stress-related diseases.

Whether you are seeking respite from a busy life or recovering from illness or injury, restorative yoga offers you the opportunity to consciously relax both your body and mind, alleviate stress, and restore your health and inner harmony.

It is a true gift you give yourself!
